MAUI PADDLING HUI

Maui Paddling Hui operates a racing series on the island of Maui, often called "one man season." The races include OC-1 and OC-2 (one and two person outrigger canoes), and Surfski (racing kayak).

​

We are a 501(c)4 nonprofit organization. Our mission is encouraging participation and competition of OC-1, OC-2, surf skis and kayaks,  on the island of Maui.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

DO I REALLY REALLY NEED A PFD TO PARTICIPATE?

  • YES  !! As of 2022,  ALL paddlers must have a leash and wear an inflatable waist pack or full size USCG approved Type I, II, III, or V Personal Flotation Device (PFD) the entire time they are paddling during EVERY MPH RACE. ISO 12402-5 rating also acceptable.


I DON'T REALLY HAVE TO WEAR A LEASH RIGHT?  YOU JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT FOR LIABILITY?

  • Yes, you do. In addition to liability, we also care about your safety. However, even if we wanted to let you break this rule, our insurance company won't let us. Without strictly enforcing this rule we can't have insurance, and without insurance we can't operate.

  • Unfortunately, we are not able to let you choose your number for this season.
     

HOW CAN I HAVE A RACE NAMED AFTER MY COMPANY, AND GET MY LOGO ON  YOUR WEBSITE AND JERSEYS?
